A Lady

I look so pretty.

my eyes bluer than the seas they cry

my cheeks brushed rosy against pale skin

my lips plump from anxious biting

I look so happy.

my eyes intense in soft submission

my cheeks stained with pure, unholy regret

my lips sewn shut while exposing open wounds

I look so brave.

my eyes big with visions of lost dreams

my cheeks crinkled from sleepless streaks

my lips fiercely set into sweet defeat

I may be pretty.

I might be happy.

I could be brave.
